Serial Experiments Lain: It’s ~(safe to turn off your computer).

Happy 28th anniversary to Serial Experiments Lain! I recently rewatched it. Even if everything could be done over again, some things in this world can never be forgotten. I especially loved the bittersweet ending of Layer 13; as the screen went black, a certain emotion lingered in the viewer’s heart.

I pay homage to the shutdown message from the Windows 95/98 era. The visuals of SEL are like a 90s CRT monitor, both unfamiliar and yet comforting.
